Google Docs at School

The Official Google Docs Blog discussed Interesting ways to use Docs in the Classroom today. The post contains an embedded presentation of the eleven ways (not sure why they didn't find a way to make it a round number) to use Google Docs in the classroom.

The collaboration features of Google Docs is unmatched. Simultaneously working on and discussing projects is phenomenal. A forgotten piece is the offline capabilities with Google Gears. Students can take the collaboration to their favorite hang out spot or eatery.

One big missing functionality is the ability to chat while working on a document together. Chat is enabled when editing either a spreadsheet or presentation. One can only hope that chatting in Documents can be expected in the future.
